01 Who we are

This website is operated by Lagoon Design for Decoration Co., an interior design and fit-out company based in Lusail, Qatar. This policy explains what personal data we collect through the site, why we collect it, and the choices and rights available to you. It is written to comply with Qatar's Personal Data Privacy Protection Law (Law No. 13 of 2016) ("PDPPL").

This is a marketing and portfolio website. It does not process payments, and it is not intended for children.

02 What personal data we collect

Consultation and contact requests. When you request a consultation or otherwise contact us through the site, we collect the information you provide; typically your name, email address, phone number, the type of project you're enquiring about, and any details or message you include.

Blog and Insights notifications. If you choose to subscribe to updates from our Journal/Insights section, we collect your email address (and, if the notification method is browser-based push rather than email, a notification identifier from your browser). This is opt-in only, we do not enroll you automatically.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we automatically collect some technical information when you visit; your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at the site typically through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5).

03 How we use your data

We use the personal data described above to:

• Respond to your consultation request and discuss your project
• Provide information, quotes, or proposals you've asked for
• Send you blog or Insights updates, but only if you've opted in, and only until you opt out
• Understand how the site is used, so we can improve it
• Meet our legal and regulatory obligations

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for purposes beyond what's described here without asking you first.

04 Consent and legal basis

Under the PDPPL, we rely on your consent as the basis for processing your data given, for example, when you submit the consultation form or subscribe to blog notifications. For direct electronic marketing specifically (such as blog notifications), we only send these if you've actively opted in, and you can withdraw that consent at any time (Section 7).

05 Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and understand how it's used. For example, to gather anonymised analytics on visitor traffic. Where required, we will ask for your consent to non-essential cookies via a cookie banner before they are set, and you can manage or withdraw that consent through your browser settings or the cookie preferences tool on the site.

06 Who we share data with

We share personal data only with:

• Service providers who help us run the site and our business - for example: website hosting, email delivery, and analytics providers, bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations
• Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information

We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

07 Your rights

Under the PDPPL, you have the right to:

• Know what personal data we hold about you and why
• Access a copy of your personal data
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent at any time, including unsubscribing from blog notifications via the link in any update we Send you

08 Data retention

We keep personal data only for as long as it's needed for the purpose it was collected. For example, consultation enquiries are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you and maintain business records, and blog subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe. We then delete or anonymize it, unless we're required to retain it for longer by law.

09 Data security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No online system is completely secure, but we take this responsibility seriously and review our practices on an ongoing basis.
